Sooke Library

Ms. Stannard is the school’s librarian.  She is in the library on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.  When Ms. Stannard is not in the library, she is teaching Grade 1/2.  Mrs. Peltomaki-Kelley is our school’s library assistant and is in the library on Tuesday afternoons from 12:00-3:00.

Students may take out 1-2 books depending on the teacher’s preference.

We use a bar code system to sign out books.  The maximum number of books a student may have out at a time is 2.  If a book has been lost or damaged, a reminder note will be sent to parents detailing the replacement costs. Library books are precious, please look after them carefully so  that they can be shared with others.

We usually run 2 Scholastic Book Fairs each year.  The first Book Fair is scheduled for November and the second  in the spring. Outdated books that are deleted from our system are often offered to students for free at the end of the term.
