Sooke Library

Ms. Smyth is the school’s librarian.  She is in the library every morning until lunch recess.  When Ms. Smyth is not in the library, she is teaching Grade 2.  Mrs. Peltomaki-Kelley is our school’s library assistant and is in the library on Tuesday afternoons from 12:30-3:30.
Students may take out 1-2 books depending on the teacher’s preference.
We use a bar code system to sign out books.  The maximum number of books a student may have out at a time is 2.  If a book has been lost or damaged, a note will be sent to parents for the replacement costs.
We run 2 Scholastic Book Fairs each year.  The first Book Fair is scheduled for November and the second will be in the spring.
Outdated books that are deleted from our system are often offered to students for free!
You can contact Ms. Smyth with any questions at  ksmyth@sd62.bc.ca  or  250-642-5431.
